What if a writer’s texts were one day transformed into a dish to be served on a dinner menu? What would that dish taste like? Would you order it?
As part of #BuySingLit, If Food be the Love of Words was a literary-themed meal immersed around poetry and live music. We organised a three-course dinner that brought Jennifer Anne Champion with fried mantou and chilli crab sauce for Appetisers, Gwee Li Sui with chicken rice and yong tau foo soup for Mains, and Amanda Chong with pancakes, love letters (kuih kapit) and a bottle of yakult for Dessert. The sold-out literary meal was also supported by the soothing voice of local singer-songwriter Ethel Yap and the comfortable SoftRock Living bean bags during dessert.
