In May 2019, Urban Culture Asia (UCA) brought us to Manila, Philippines as a celebration of the 50th year of bilateral ties between Singapore and the Philippines. Through the three-day arts and culture excursion to the Philippines, we got to know the latest creative trends, widen our network and build new relationships with Urban Culture Asia.

From visits to independent bookstores to artist-run spaces and the iconic Cultural Center of the Philippines, UCA Manila brought us to the heart of contemporary Filipino creative practices, and allowed us to engage with our partner, the Performing Arts and Creation Centre (PARC) Foundation, a non-profit organisation that aims to spearhead the development of performing arts in the Philippines.
