Christmas
At The Fort
December 2019 / Fort Canning Park
From 19 to 22 Dec, we had the privilege to transform the historic Fort Canning Park into a tapestry of music and light! Alongside Wesley Methodist Church and The RICE Company, the four-day music festival Christmas at the Fort saw close to 13,000 people soaking in the yuletide joy to music performances by Charlie Lim, Haneri (previously known as Daphne Khoo), Olivia Ong and Joanna Dong, Ireson Latin Band, Auburn Daze, Sam Driscoll, Toby Madox and Andrew Paul Chen. Besides the eco-market featuring sustainable brands and a children’s carnival zone, the free Spirit of Giving trail on the LocoMole app provided an pre-festival activity for the adventurous to find out more about the philanthropic stories behind landmarks around the precinct. Every night, audiences were treated to a multi-media showcase entitled The Spirit of Giving Across The Years designed by the acclaimed Brian Gothong Tan which comprises seldom-seen photos of how Christmas was celebrated in Singapore across two centuries. The showcase was set to the music arranged by Music Director Jusuf Kam. Before the end of each night, we had a heartening time at light-up session and mass carolling session accompanied by the Wesley Methodist Orchestra, Choir, Angklung and Ukelele ensemble. Our heart goes out to everyone who spend your evenings with us at Fort Canning Park. Thank you for being a part of this spirit of giving!
