The 12 Storeys of Christmas

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of 30 Movember to 23 December, the 12 Storeys of Christmas at Orchard Central was played out around an overarching story, which told the tale of an eight year-old girl, Adette (the name means ‘noble’ and ‘sweet’ in German) who has been tasked by her mother to search for 12 unusual Christmas presents requested for by her other family members. 

The production was inspired by the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas” in which gifts are given from a lover to another. In this, the song was adapted to “The Twelve Things of Christmas” (with lyrics in embedded in the storyline below). The production tied in different music into the narrative. As much as possible, the production featured original work of the group we are working with, on top of familiar Christmas tunes which audiences could sing along to.
