Brief Encounters: A Musical Affair

3 September 2017 / 7.30pm / Esplanade Concert Hall

In September, Austria met Singapore for a brief musical rendezvous when prize winning Viennese choir Chorus Sine Nomine shared an evening with Yamaha and Bosendorfer Artiste Churen Li and the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra. Held at the Esplanade Concert Hall, this concert featured renowned works such as Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18, Parry’s anthem Blest Pair of Sirens (sung at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton) before ending with Schubert’s powerful Mass No. 6 in E-flat D950. The evening saw an audience of about 900 people, including beneficiaries from the Singapore Cancer Society, Children’s Cancer Foundation and youths from the Business Times Budding Artist Fund.
